Bears: Why it’s already safe to call QB Mitchell Trubisky a bust

A Rough Rookie Season

Mitchell Trubisky joined a Chicago Bears team that was not quite ready for the young quarterback, and therefore made his rookie season a challenging one.

Only starting twelve games in his first season, Trubisky put together a rather pedestrian-like 2017 season, amounting to over 2,100 yards, 7 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. The first-year player recorded a poor passer rating of 77.5 and averaged below 200 yards passing per game.

Many analysts gave him a pass on this season, as the Bears team around him didn’t do him any favors, and a quarterback’s rookie season can be a daunting transition.
