Dallas Cowboys: 5 Reasons They Will Win the NFC East

Having Zeke for a Full Season

There are three significant reasons the Cowboys’ season ended short. They are Tyron Smith being injured, Sean Lee being injured, and the Ezekiel Elliott suspension.

Going into the 2017 season there was a lot of unknown surrounding star running back Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott was constantly in the news between the Saint Patrick’s day incident in Dallas and the investigation with his former girlfriend. After a long dragged out process, Elliott had no choice but to serve his six-game suspension, thrusting Rod Smith and Alfred Morris into the main role. Elliott was not able to return until Week 16 of the season and missed key games against the Falcons, Eagles, and Chargers. Even after missing six games, Elliott still finished in the top 10 of rushing yards in the NFL.

This offseason there has been practically zero mention of Elliott and any off the field concerns. With Bryant and Witten gone, I expect him to get more touches and return to his rookie season form, if not top it.
