Miles Sanders Puts Up Huge Numbers
There is plenty of reason for intrigue when it comes to Miles Sanders’ long-term potential in the NFL. For the Philadelphia Eagles, they could see a significant portion of that come to fruition during the upcoming 2020 season with full embrace of his talent.
As a rookie, Sanders started in just 11 of his 16 appearances and recorded 229 touches, 1,327 total yards from scrimmage, and six combined touchdowns. Each of those categories should go up considerably with a natural increase in touches as a full-time starter.
With Jordan Howard no longer in the backfield, there is considerable outlook for Sanders to expand his production in the ground game. The Eagles provided Howard with an average of 11.9 rush attempts per game while Sanders trailed by 0.7 in this category.
The results Sanders achieved on his receptions was quite impressive in 2019 with an average of 10.2 yards per catch and a 79.4 percent catch rate. Having additional receiving talents for the defense to have to focus on should only help the receivers out of the backfield to produce.
Receiving an expanded role in 2020 will help the dual-threat back put up lofty numbers. Sanders looks up to Christian McCaffrey for what to strive towards achieving and if given the opportunity, he has the necessary talent to achieve this on a smaller scale this season.
