Raheem Mostert
Current ADP in redraft leagues: RB25, Pick No. 62
Speaking of players that returned a ton of value, Raheem Mostert became a viable option in fantasy football as the 2019 season progressed. Unless you were in a league with someone that could see the future, Mostert was likely a waiver-wire addition.
To begin the 2019 season, it was Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida who were expected to split carries for the San Francisco 49ers. However, with Coleman missing time early in the season, Mostert made the most of his opportunity. Mostert, an undrafted free agent that bounced around to multiple teams from 2015-2018, would spearhead San Francisco’s rushing attack with 722 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
In terms of fantasy football, Mostert finished as the 26th highest-scoring running back in PPR leagues in 2019. Heading into the 2020 season, Mostert is currently the 25th running back off most boards at an ADP of 62. That seems like a steep price for a running back that isn’t going to have the entire workload to himself.
While Breida is no longer in the mix, Coleman figures to still have a role in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Not to mention, Jerick McKinnon is expected to finally make his debut with the 49ers this season after injuries have prevented him from playing the past two seasons. Barring injuries to either Coleman or McKinnon, Mostert is going to have a tough time being a consistent option in fantasy football in 2020.
