Aaron Jones
Current ADP in redraft leagues: RB12, Pick No. 21
The Green Bay Packers were just one game shy of advancing to the Super Bowl in 2019 despite a shortage of weapons on offense. One of the reasons why was Aaron Jones, who finally saw a full complement of touches in his third season with the Packers.
After touching the ball a combined 249 times in his first two seasons, Jones tallied 285 total touches in 2019. The former fifth-round pick would turn those 285 touches into 1,558 yards from scrimmage and a league-high 19 touchdowns. As Green Bay’s de facto No. 1 running back and No. 2 wide receiver, Jones was the second highest-scoring running back in fantasy football last season.
Despite his dominant effort in 2019, the Packers added rookie AJ Dillon to the backfield, and Jamaal Williams is still expected to have a role. Given that, just one season after we got a preview of what Jones can do with a heavy workload, we are likely getting deprived of seeing the same in 2020.
Without a doubt, Jones still has a chance to finish as one of the highest-scoring running backs in 2020 due to Green Bay’s lack of firepower on offense. Jones has currently been the 12th running back take in fantasy football drafts thus far. As much as we want to see Jones unleashed again this season, it’s unlikely we will be able to have the same touchdown production and consistency as he did in 2019, with him scoring double-digit fantasy points in 11 of his 16 contests.
