4.) Ezekiel Elliot
Most fantasy sites will have Ezekiel Elliot in their top-3 for PPR backs, but there’s reason to believe Elliot won’t have as great an output as some of the top tier backs.
First off, with so many weapons to throw to, new head coach Mike McCarthy will likely employ a pass first approach. He loved to air it out during his time as the head man in Green Bay, so expect more of the same in Dallas. Not to mention, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore leaned on the pass quite a bit last year as well.
Secondly, Zeke has had at least 350 touches in three out of his four NFL seasons. He accounted for nearly 25 percent of Dallas’ entire offensive output last season. Allowing the rising talent in Tony Pollard to take some of the load off Zeke would be wise of the Cowboys.
If the organization wants Zeke to last through the duration of his new contract, they’ll need to find ways to limit the amount of touches he accumulates each year. Don’t be surprised if that philosophy gets put into place in 2020.
