Malcolm Butler
Malcolm Butler is still celebrated by fans of the Patriots because of his game-clinching interception versus the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 49. But over the past two seasons, Butler has been a key contributor with the Tennessee Titans.
The unsung Super Bowl hero signed a five-year, $61.2 million contract with the Titans in 2018. Throughout his 25 games that he’s suited up in with Tennessee, Butler has combined for 21 pass breakups and five interceptions.
While the Titans are likely going to let Logan Ryan sign elsewhere this offseason, they bolstered the secondary with veteran Johnathan Joseph and they selected Kristian Fulton in the 2020 NFL Draft. And they still have Adoree Jackson at cornerback. Even though it would be easier for Tennessee to part ways with Butler in 2021, they could surprisingly release him in 2020.
