Quinnen Williams, New York Jets
When the New York Jets drafted Quinnen Williams with the 3rd overall pick expectations were very high. Although last season was underwhelming, Williams could still grow to be a pro-bowl tackle. Quinnen Williams is a big bodied defensive tackle.
However, he matches his size and strength with very good athleticism. This season Williams will once again play the three-technique. It is likely he will serve as the primary pass rusher for the Jets, as an interior lineman that could be a challenge.
Over the offseason Williams seems more dedicated than ever to prove himself by showing that he is a reliable player on the defensive line. Williams has has all the natural talent in the world, but needs to use that talent to disrupt opposing offenses. If he doesn’t deliver this season, there will be plenty of people unhappy the Jets didn’t pick someone else at the No. 3 overall pick.
Next season will be vital for the Jets’ future. New York has been struggling to find traction in the AFC East. If Quinnen Williams can provide a stable pass rush, it will help the Jets defense tremendously. While he was a very talented lineman in college, it will be interesting to see if he can play up to the Jets expectations next season.
