Things between the Jaguars and Yannick Ngakoue are not looking pretty. He has voiced his frustration with the Jaguars front office multiple times on Twitter. He may want to stay in the AFC South. The Colts will have a ton of cap space to work with. They are also in need of a star edge rusher.
This signing would make perfect sense for the Colts and for Ngakoue. Justin Houston is getting older. Although he is still playing at a very high level, there is no guarantee this will continue. Indianapolis has a lot of talent. Darius Leonard is one of the best linebackers in the league and DeForest Buckner is coming off a great year with the 49ers.
The Colts run a 4-3 defense. That is what the Jaguars have run throughout Ngakoue’s entire career. Indianapolis is transitioning towards a more run focused offense. The best way to support a running offense is a defense that creates turnovers, which is his specialty.
