1. Green Bay Packers
Can we please get Aaron Rodgers some weapons? Davante Adams is still playing at a high-level but the depth beyond him is non-existent. The Green Bay Packers did not draft a wide receiver in 2020 but they did opt for a backup quarterback and a second-round running back.
The Packers won 13 games in 2019 and were the No. 2 seed in the conference. They were steamrolled by the Niners in the NFC Championship Game because they were unable to score points, or stop the run. Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will be asked to step up as primary targets this season. Equanimeous St. Brown is another young receiver that Matt LaFleur feels good about.
Green Bay is a championship town. A blowout loss one game before the Super Bowl should not sit well and it seems like enough to add receiving help. They did not do so. The big move was to sign Devin Funchess on a one-year deal. Funchess eventually decided to opt out of the 2020 season. Jimmy Graham left for the Chicago bears leaving another young player in Jace Sternberger with pressure to step up.
It is possible that these young options in Green Bay turn into stars. Regardless, adding AJ Green to pair with Adams would give No. 12 plenty of options. If a young receiver pans out, great. Green would bring depth, leadership, and excitement to a Packers’ offense that currently features one of the worst receiving corps in the league.
