NFL Free Agency: Predicting where the top QB’s will land in free agency

Predicted team in 2020: Tennessee Titans

Before the 2019 season kicked off, the Tennessee Titans chose to make a trade to acquire Ryan Tannehill from the Miami Dolphins. When the trade first occurred, it was assumed that Tannehill would serve as the backup to Marcus Mariota all season.

On the contrary, the Titans decided to bench Mariota in favor of Tannehill in hopes he could provide a spark to the offense. It’s safe to say that Tennessee made the right decision to go with Tannehill.

After securing the starting gig in Week 7, Tannehill would finish with 2,598 yards, 22 touchdowns, and five interceptions in his 10 starts. Most importantly, the Texas A&M product would lead the Titans into the playoffs and advance to the AFC Championship Game.

Following his highly efficient season in 2019, it’s hard to envision the Titans going with someone not named Tannehill in free agency. Plus, with the No. 29 pick in the upcoming draft, Tennessee isn’t in a position to select one of the top quarterback prospects.

Additionally, the Titans could likely sign Tannehill for a cheaper price than some of the other options in free agency. Whether it’s him getting franchise tagged or signing a deal in free agency, it’s doubtful that Tannehill doesn’t end up being back with the Titans in 2020.
