The list of NFL Top 100 players for 2020 was extremely flawed in many ways. Patrick Mahomes was not No. 1 on the list which is extremely foolish, but the worst snub was Carson Wentz. The Eagles quarterback did not make the list at all. It is interesting to see how the perception of Wentz has changed since he was No. 3 on the list in 2018.

Wentz played all 16 games in 2019 for just the second time in his career. He led the Eagles to a 9-7 record and an NFC East division title. Wentz threw for 4,039 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. This looks like a top 100 player, especially at the game’s most important position. Wentz got the chance to start his first playoff game on his home field against the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately, Wentz was forced to leave the game in the first quarter after a questionable hit by Jadeveon Clowney.

In 2020, Wentz has a lot to prove. He was the MVP front runner in 2018 before going down with an injury. In 2020, ESPN projects Wentz to finish with 3,808 yards with 27 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The Eagles do not have the best receiving corps in the league. This was the reason they added Jalen Reagor with their first round pick in 2020. Alshon Jeffrey leads the group followed by DeSean Jackson. Zach Ertz is still one of the top tight ends in the game and Miles Sanders leads the backfield.

The NFC East is going to be a two team race. It will be the Eagles and Cowboys fighting for the division title once again. The Eagles will go as far as Wentz leads them in 2020. He will have to stay healthy so Nate Sudfeld or Jalen Hurts (who could be used like Taysom Hill) do not have to take snaps under center.
