Indianapolis Colts — Linebacker
Darius Leonard is a star, a second-round steal in the 2018 NFL Draft, and a bright spot for the Indianapolis defense. The rest of the linebacker corps, not so much.
To be fair, the rest of the Colts’ linebacker group is young and short on experience, and maybe another year of play can help elevate their game to a level worthy of sharing the field with a talent like Leonard. But the team’s two projected starters outside their All-Pro counterpart, Anthony Walker and Bobby Okereke, haven’t quite earned the benefit of the doubt yet in their careers.
Walker’s tackle numbers are nice, but he doesn’t especially shine in coverage, similar to Okereke. The two of them don’t need to be stars with Leonard on the field, but their presence as presumed starters doesn’t exactly bode well for the linebacker group as a whole, especially when considering their unproven depth players in EJ Speed and Matthew Adams.
