Denver Broncos
Trade Package: Denver Broncos trade a 2021 second-round pick to the New England Patriots for Joe Thuney.
The Broncos’ offensive line has made improvements. This offseason Denver got a very good guard in Graham Glasgow. After an underwhelming rookie campaign, Garett Bolles took a major step forward last season.
Trading for a proven veteran guard would be a smart move for the Broncos. Patriots guard Joe Thuney is the perfect target. He is one of the league’s best guards who is fantastic at both run and pass blocking. An addition of this kind would help solidify Denver in the AFC West.
The Patriots have yet to reach an extension with Thuney. There is a very good chance he hits the free-agent market next offseason. Adding a second-round pick would be a very good value for a player they may not be able to keep. New England historically has been effective at drafting talent past the first round. Adding this pick could be something that the Patriots use as a building block for the future.
While Dalton Risner wasn’t bad during his rookie season, Thuney would be a major improvement. Risner is a very flexible player, he could be moved to play right tackle or possibly center. Adding Thuney gives this offensive line a lot more depth. This offense has a ton of potential, and adding a quality guard could do a lot for Denver’s future.
