Trade Package: Minnesota Vikings trade Alexander Mattison, a 2021 first-round pick and a 2022 first-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams for Jalen Ramsey.

While it has only been a year on the Rams, it is likely Jalen Ramsey will test his value in free agency. Los Angeles gave up a ton for Ramsey, thinking he would transform the defense. Due to the strength of the NFC West, the Rams’ shot at the playoffs this year is looking grim as well.

It would be very frustrating for Los Angeles to trade away so much for two seasons of mediocre success. Getting a similar return in a trade with the Vikings would be a smart decision for Los Angeles who may enter yet another rebuild at the end of the season.

While the Rams get two future first-round picks and a promising running back prospect, the Vikings get a player who can shut down any wide receiver. Each team in the NFC North has a star No. 1 receiver. Having a shutdown corner like Ramsey would be vital for the team’s success.

With a great front-seven, Minnesota already has a very good defense, adding Ramsey would boot them to one of the league’s best. This would also take the pressure off rookie corner Jeff Gladney.

There is a chance Ramsey and the Rams agree to an extension. However, the fact it hasn’t happened yet is not promising and a player of Ramsey’s talents would likely want to test his worth. Los Angeles is in the toughest division in football, and it looks like they may be the weakest team in the division.

The Vikings would be giving up a lot for Ramsey, and he may leave in free agency. However, if the Vikings can get a Super Bowl out of it, this trade would be well worth it.
