3. Giants Sign James Bradberry

The New York Giants didn’t limit themselves to adding prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft as their only source for adding talent. They swung for the fences in free agency and managed to land the top cornerback outside of Byron Jones by landing James Bradberry on a three-year, $43.5 million deal.

The ability Bradberry has to shadow elite receivers and make a clear impact should not be understated. whether it was Mike Evans, DeAndre Hopkins, Julio Jones, D.K. Metcalf, or Michael Thomas, the presence of Bradberry was felt throughout the 2019 season.

There will be a need in the NFC East for years to come for a corner like Bradberry that can be tasked with slowing down an opposing team’s top target. Between Amari Cooper and Terry McLaurin in the fold and whoever the Eagles can add in the future, the division has some intriguing No. 1 receivers.

The importance of the Bradberry signing only intensified when considering the ongoing legal status of DeAndre Baker. It’s difficult to envision where the Giants would be right now had they not signed Bradberry when considering the circumstances.
