1. David Bakhtiari – Green Bay Packers

While edge rushers and quarterbacks get all the glory, the best player in the NFC North is left tackle David Bakhtiari. He has been an All-Pro in each season since 2016. For reference, he has earned one First-Team All-Pro nod (2018) and three Second-Team All-Pro selections (2016, 2017, 2019).

According to ESPN, Bakhtiari led all tackles with the highest pass block win rate (96%) in 2019. No other member of the NFC North cracked the top 10 and there was a gap of 2% between Bakhtiari and the No. 2 spot.

Although most people think of Aaron Rodgers when they think of Green Bay, Bakhtiari is a cornerstone of the offense. While he is most well known for his incredible pass-blocking ability, he is also a proficient run blocker. Bakhtiari’s ability to secure the edge on run plays is a major reason why Aaron Jones tied for the No. 1 spot in rushing touchdowns last season.

Securing the blindside is vital towards the success of an offense. In the NFC North, a division filled with stellar edge rushers, it is especially important. Luckily for the Packers, they have the league’s most efficient pass blocker.

The Packers are likely going for another title run this season and David Bakhtiari will be a big reason why that is possible.
