4. Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers
In the five seasons he has played at least 14 games, Allen has posted at least 71 receptions on at least 105 targets. If he had played much more than eight games in 2015, he would have smashed both numbers (67 receptions on 89 targets).
Over the last three seasons, Allen has averaged 101 catches and 1,262 yards on 148 targets per campaign. Over that span, he’s third in the NFL in receptions (303), fourth in receiving yards (3,788), fifth in targets (444) and eighth in yards per game (78.9). He’s also tied for eighth in catch rate among wide receivers over the last three seasons (68.2 percent).
With the change from Philip Rivers to Tyrod Taylor at quarterback for the Chargers, Allen’s numbers are set to decline this year. But he’s still in line to lead the team in targets, even if the pie is smaller, and Allen will remain underappreciated until further notice.
