Odell Beckham Jr., Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns expected big things after they pulled off a surprise trade for Odell Bekcham Jr. from the New York Giants. It’s safe to say those expectations were not met last season as both the team and the star receiver failed to live up to lofty expectations.
In 2019, Beckham produced by far his lowest single-season average for receiving yards per game (64.7) and his worst catch rate (55.6 percent), too. It was a down season by every metric and it’s important he has a bounce back season, or else he his elite status will be revoked.
Aside from being hampered by playing with a struggling Baker Mayfield in a Freddie Kitchens offense, Beckham was limited by injuries. He underwent surgery to repair a hip and groin injury earlier in the offseason after playing through those issues last season.
Teams will have to account for the tight end position quite a bit next season, opening things up for Beckham. There is also going to be an established understanding that Nick Cubb is a running back to be feared and that should help play action passing as well.
