T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts
The connection Andrew Luck had established with T.Y. Hilton was among the best QB-WR duos in the NFL of the last decade. There was a decline in the star receivers’ production going from an elite talent in Luck to an underwhelming quarterback talent in Jacoby Brissett.
Hilton has comfortably exceeded the 1,000-yard mark in each of the seasons he played with Luck. He even posted a league-best 1,448 receiving yards in 2016 and added six touchdown grabs to go along with. Last season, he played through injuries but Brissett’s deficiencies were more harmful to his production.
With the Colts being back to having a more dynamic quarterback in Philip Rivers, it’s easy to foresee Hilton having a strong year. There will be no shortage of receiving yards to be had and with the running game likely being even stronger, the play-action could open up even more.
The upcoming season will also mark the final year of Hilton’s current contract. He will be 31-years-old in mid-November, meaning he will be playing to position himself well for what will likely be the final substantial deal of his NFL career. There should be no shortage of motivation for No. 13.
