Henry Ruggs III Will Thrive
The first receiver off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft was Henry Ruggs III and with that comes lofty expectations. He should have little issue with providing the level of impact that would be expected from a receiver with his skill-set.
The situation Ruggs III will be entering with the Raiders is favorable. While he won’t be playing with an elite quarterback, the opposition will have to account for Darren Waller at tight end and Josh Jacobs in the running game.
ESPN recently released their league-wide projections forevery offensive player in the league ahead of the upcoming season. The expectation they have for Ruggs III is that he totals 59 catches for 791 yards, and five touchdowns in 2020.
If Ruggs were to reach the projected numbers from ESPN, it would be a sufficient season for him. It would serve as a solid foundation for him to build on heading into his second-season when a genuine leap to stardom could occur.
