Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
The impact Matt Ryan provided the Atlanta Falcons last season wasn’t as precise as it was the year prior. He remains one of the NFL’s more underrated quarterbacks and could be in store for production that is closer to his 2018 levels.
To put it into perspective, Ryan ended the 2019 season totaling 4,466 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while completing 66.2% of his pass attempts. He managed to lead the NFL in completions despite missing one game due to injury.
The Falcons could field a truly impressive offensive attack after adding Todd Gurley into the mix. They already have talent at the wide receiver spots but needed a more dynamic running back to maximize Ryan’s contributions in play-action situations.
When Matt Ryan has the right pieces around him, he has already proven to be able to put some of the top individual quarterback seasons in the NFL. Many seem to have forgotten about his potential impact since the Falcons lost a 28-3 lead to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI.
