7. Injuries Headline Week 2

Week 2 of the 2020 season will be remembered as one of the wildest injury weeks we have ever seen. There are many teams that lost key players for the season or for many weeks in the near future.

It begins with the two biggest names — Saquon Barkley and Nick Bosa. There has been no official word but the notion is that both players suffered torn ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season. This is a huge blow for both teams but especially the San Francisco 49ers, who expect to contend for a Super Bowl once again. The Niners also lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the second half against the New York Jets.

Drew Lock suffered a sprained AC joint and will miss some time moving forward. Both Christian McCaffrey and Davante Adams were banged up in their Week 2 matchups. Adams and McCaffrey came out and said that they felt good after the game but it is still something to keep an eye on moving forward.

This was a strange and unfortunate week around the league headlined by injuries. This is not because of the absence of preseason action. Moving forward, let’s just hope that we do not lose any more premiere players.
