2. Cam Newton is Still Really Good

“Every team at one point had to say: ‘Ok fellas — Cam Newton, what are we thinking? Eh pass.’ I’m going at necks all year.” These were the words of Newton back in July when he was signed by the New England Patriots. Through two weeks, Newton is holding up his end of the bargain.

Newton is turning back the clock and using his legs in a big way in New England. He currently has four rushing touchdowns which leads the league. The Patriots have drawn up many runs for Newton, who still looks strong with the ball in his hands.

On Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks, Newton completed 68.1% of his passes for 397 yards with a touchdown and interception. He added two touchdowns on the ground and was stuffed at the goal line on the final play of the game.

When Newton landed in New England, there was just a feeling that he was going to turn it around. He has completely done so under Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels.
