Browns: Why Baker Mayfield will have an MVP-caliber season in 2020

The Cleveland Browns are waiting for Baker Mayfield to take that next step as a quarterback. He is entering his third season in the NFL and it is now time for Mayfield to show that he is a franchise player that Cleveland can trust.

During his rookie year, Mayfield started 13 games and performed well. He threw 27 touchdowns an 14 interceptions. In his sophomore campaign, Mayfield took a step back. The Browns went 6-10 while Mayfield went for 22 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.

This is the pivotal third year of a rookie contract. Mayfield will want an extension eventually and he will need to put up big numbers to get what he wants.

In 2019, Mayfield turned believers into doubters with his play on the field. In 2020, he will have a chance to flip the script once again. Here are three reasons why Mayfield will have an MVP-caliber season in year three.
