Preston Brown will lead the team in tackles, becomes a Pro Bowler and All-Pro in 2018

During the free agency period, the Bengals didn’t make a major move but they got a steal by signing former Bill Preston Brown to a one-year deal worth $4 million. The fifth-year pro out of Louisville has established himself as a stout inside linebacker, already amassing 500 career tackles.

2017 was the best season of Brown’s career where he totaled 144 tackles leading the league with Green Bay’s Blake Martinez and Cleveland’s Joe Schobert and helping Buffalo lift their 18-year postseason drought.

The Preston Brown signing comes in as the Bengals are re-tooling their defense. Last season wasn’t a good for Cincinnati’s defense as they finish 18th in the league, eighth in passing, and 30th in rushing. Brown is joining a stout front seven which includes Pro Bowlers Geno Atkins, Carlos Dunlap, Vontaze Burfict, and new signee Chris Baker.

With his hard work ethic and outstanding ability of being a physical tackler, Preston Brown has all the tools to be break out star in his hometown this season.
