6. N’Keal Harry, New England Patriots
The New England Patriots receiving core had a few issues last season. While there is a new former MVP under center, the Patriots didn’t do much to address their issues at wide receiver. That is likely due to their faith in N’Keal Harry.
Harry was a monster in college at Arizona State and the Patriots used their first-round pick on him last year. Harry has a lot to prove this season and he should be in for a big year.
While the signing of Cam Newton may hurt Julian Edleman, it may boost Harry’s production. Newton loves to throw to big targets. Harry is the perfect red zone threat. He has a strong frame, great hands, and is very physical. The lack of receiving depth and tight ends with experience is exactly why Harry will be in for a big year.
Harry does need to improve his route running ability. However, the Patriots offense doesn’t call for a very expansive route tree. His physicality is the thing most people should be excited about. While he isn’t the fastest, Harry is very good after the catch. His aggressive running style is going to force defensive backs to miss tackles.
While last season wasn’t as productive as he would have liked, injury limited Harry’s production. This season, expect a major jump in his production and to take over as the Patriots primary receiver.
