QBs to Start in Week 13
Ravens’ Lamar Jackson (vs. Falcons): The Baltimore Ravens have been without Joe Flacco for two weeks now due to injury. Their rookie QB, Lamar Jackson has filled in and has gotten them two straight wins. He’s been especially effective on the ground, rushing 37 times for 190 yards and a touchdown in two starts. This week he gets an Atlanta Falcons defense who has allowed 28 total touchdowns to QBs this year (tied most in NFL).
Buccaneers’ Jameis Winston (vs. Panthers): The only QB who has scored ahead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers duo of Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick, is Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has 299.7 points this season, while Winston/Fitzpatrick have combined for 270.4 points. He also gets the Carolina Panthers this week, who allow the sixth most points to opposing QBs this year.
Seahawks’ Russell Wilson (vs. 49ers): It seems like Russell Wilson is getting close to being a must start fantasy QB again. After struggling a little to begin the season, Wilson has scored 18 or more points in seven straight contests. His running has increased in recent weeks as well, running it 22 times in the last four games. In Week 13 he’ll get a weak San Francisco 49ers defense, who allows the eighth most points to QBs this season.
Other QBs I Like: Eagles’ Carson Wentz (vs. Redskins), Vikings’ Kirk Cousins (vs. Patriots), Texans’ Deshaun Watson (vs. Browns)
QBs to Sit in Week 13
Falcons’ Matt Ryan (vs. Ravens): I know it’s hard to bench Matt Ryan, especially in a pass-happy offense. If you don’t have any better options, then yeah play him. His match up this week is a tough one though, as he takes on the Ravens. The Ravens have allowed just 16 points per game to QBs this year and have allowed just one 300-yard game from any QB this season.
Giants’ Eli Manning (vs. Bears): This pick is mostly for the people who are in deeper leagues, playing bottom of the barrel QBs. If you’re forced to insert Eli Manning into your lineup this week, I’ll send my condolences. He’s struggled this season, with a tough match up in Week 13. He gets the Chicago Bears, who have 20 interceptions this season while allowing 19 touchdowns.
