Los Angeles Rams: Full Report-Card Grades for Weeks 1 through 4

USA TODAY Sports

Cornerback

Grade: A

The only hit this pass defense took, was in Week 4 against the Vikings. They allowed 422 yards and three touchdowns.

I wouldn’t expect many performances like that from opposing offenses. Before Week 4, they allowed just 568 yards passing.

With the addition of Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib and Sam Shields, the Rams secondary was playing lights out. Now Talib could be out for the rest of the regular season, with an ankle injury.

That’s a huge loss for any team, but good thing the Rams are deep in their secondary.

Shields will be asked to step up into a starting role opposite Peters, as Nickell Robey-Coleman will man his usual nickel-CB role.

When you have a guy like Peters, turnovers are going to come in bunches, with the Rams being tied for eighth in interceptions in the NFL.

Peters kicked off the season with a memorable pick-six. He would get fined 13k for the celebration, paying ode to Marshawn Lynch (his cousin).

I expect this group to get better and better with more time together on the field. They get an A for now, with an A+ being possible by the end of the year.
