Baltimore Ravens
What the Baltimore Ravens’ offense managed to achieve in 2019 was nothing short of spectacular en route to a 14-2 record. With an elite running game led by Lamar Jackson and Mark Ingram, the team took a massive leap forward. The offensive line was critical in those efforts.
The presence Marshal Yanda provided the Ravens’ offense was integral in the success of the offensive line–posing issues for the rest of the AFC North for years. With his decision to retire from his NFL career, the team will have to replace his impact they came to expect at the right guard spot.
The top candidates to compete for the Ravens’ starting right guard position appear to be Ben Powers and D.J. Fluker. It’s important to also mention that Ben Bredeson–the Ravens’ fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft–could compete as a dark-horse candidate for this role, too.
When considering the Ravens are seeking to replace an established and crucial veteran like Yanda, it seems most likely Fluker will get the nod. He started training camp in much improved physical shape in an effort to win the job and it should pay off.
