5 bold predictions for the 49ers vs. Jets matchup in Week 2

49ers, Jets
NFL Analysis Nework

The San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets will face off against each other in Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season. This is another tough test for the Jets early in the year to avoid falling to an 0-2 start. Meanwhile, after a close loss to the Arizona Cardinals, this could be a big bounce back week for the 49ers.

The 49ers’ defense is dominant. Meanwhile, their offense is fantastic at running the football. Both of these areas should play a pivotal role in deciding the outcome of this matchup. If the Jets can find a way to execute on offense and stop the run, it would go a long way.

Although the Jets have struggled, they do have potential. Sam Darnold has talent, however, their playmakers are not very good. Le’Veon Bell did not play well against the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 and will be in for another tough week against the 49ers’ strong defensive front. There is a real need for the Jets’ offense to be a bit more diverse in order to win.

The 49ers had some great moments on offense last week, but it wasn’t enough against the Cardinals. One player that must improve if San Francisco is to make another Super Bowl run is Jimmy Garoppolo. He left points on the board last week with a couple of bad throws. That must change, and a matchup with the Jets will need to be when it starts.

The Jets do not match up very well against the 49ers and San Francisco should win this game fairly easily as a result. However, no game should be taken lightly in the NFL. If New York plays to their potential and the 49ers struggle, this could be a competitive game.

With that being said, let’s take a look at five bold predictions for the San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Jets matchup in Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season.
