Via Fantasy Football Calculator, Ben Roethlisberger is coming off the board at QB16 (pick 11.02, 12 team full PPR) or QB17 (pick 11.06, 12-team standard). That lines up well with my ranking of him right now-QB17.

Roethlisberger is worth targeting late in drafts as a QB2. The risk/downside is baked into his ADP, and the upside is a top-10 fantasy quarterback. Confidence in a full bounce-back, into top-10-12 territory among quarterbacks, is not required to justify drafting him. If nothing else, the Steelers’ soft Week 1 matchup against the Giants will be a solid indication of how healthy he is.

The track for Roethlisberger’s 2020 season seems likely to be laid in the first month. That set of exploitable matchups will be worth looking at beyond the raw numbers, as he knocks the rust off.
