NFL: 7 moves we’d like to see get done before the 2020 season

6. Leonard Fournette Signs with Eagles

There are plenty of other teams who face a more pressing need for a running back at the moment. However, the potential Miles Sanders-Lournette Fournette duo in the Philadelphia Eagles’ backfield would be intriguing to see.

Jordan Howard experienced real success complementing Sanders in the backfield in 2019. Now, Howard is a member of the Miami Dolphins and that’s why the Eagles have worked out veteran free agents, but haven’t made a signing yet.

Currently, the Eagles have Boston Scott, Corey Clement, Elijah Holyfield behind Sanders on the running back depth chart. Managing to add a talent like Fournette would give a power-back complement and an upgrade as the secondary option.

To add further intrigue, the Eagles wouldn’t need to give anything up in order to land Fournette. The Jaguars’ decision to release him freed up $4 million in cap space for them while making Fournette an unrestricted free agent a week and a half before the NFL season.
