The Baltimore Ravens will likely run the table in the AFC North again during the 2020 season but the Pittsburgh Steelers will look to give them a run for their money. The only problem; they are facing a potentially difficult financial landscape next offseason.

There are a variety of key players that are entering contract years for the Steelers. There are nine players that are projected starters in 2020 that are on the list like Alejandro Villanueva, Bud Dupree, Cameron Heyward, James Conner, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jordan Berry, Mike Hilton, Matt Feiler, and Daniel McCullers.

It would help the Steelers if they could try to get Ben Roethlisberger to re-structure his contract next offseason. Even then, there is only so much dialing back some of the team’s spending can do to help retain that many key players within the same offseason.

The AFC North will be fascinating to track over the next few seasons considering the Cincinnati Bengals should be on the rise quickly with Joe Burrow. If he thrives early and the Cleveland Browns finally turns thing around under new leadership, the Steelers will be in a challenging situation.
