Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears currently are positioned in a state of purgatory. They are worse than the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings, making a run at a playoff spot an uphill battle. To make matters worse, the salary cap situation they could be facing in 2021 is concerning.

With heavy investments already made on defense with talents like Khalil Mack, Kyle Fuller, Robert Quinn, Akiem Hicks, and Eddie Goldman, the Bears will already be facing a restrictive cap situation next offseason. A league-wide decline in spending room will exacerbate the woes on offense.

The top list of priorities for the Bears to sign long-term starts with Allen Robinson but they already need to add more talent around him. The offense appears primed to continue to underwhelm with the options the quarterback position will have to work with going forward.

From the perspective of taking the best course of action in 2021, rolling with Nick Foles at quarterback would certainly help Chicago. It makes the state of affairs easier if they can save at that position and shift focus to getting creative to solve the rest of the roster’s issues.
